Frequently Asked Questions
What is Louisville UnFair?
UnFair is an edgy, annual art event celebrating local artists, music, and culture. Distinct from traditional art fairs, it champions unique and audacious creators and the unrelenting authenticity their art contributes to Louisville’s art scene.
UnFair is also a registered nonprofit with the Commonwealth of Kentucky and is dedicated to creating equity and opportunity for marginalized local artists in our area while injecting ourselves into the city’s culture.
When is UnFair this year?
The Louisville UnFair happens every year during the first full weekend of October. The show runs daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Where exactly is UnFair located?
UnFair is held in historic Old Louisville in the backyard of the Mag Bar, located on the corner of Second Street and Magnolia Avenue, just east of Central Park. Old Louisville is approximately 3 miles south of downtown Louisville and just 3 blocks north of The University of Louisville.
The physical address of Mag Bar is:

Is parking available?
Parking during UnFair is an adventure due to the fact that the show happens the same weekend at the Saint James Court Art Show. Street level parking is your primary option for free parking in Old Louisville.
If you don’t mind walking a block or two, you shouldn’t have any problems. Alternatively, you can ride-share, bum a lift from a friend, or ride your bike and get to UnFair without all the parking hassle.
Are kids and pets allowed?
Pets are welcome. Children are welcome at UnFair too, but minors are not allowed to enter Mag Bar.
What kind of art will I find at UnFair?
We feature a wide variety of original art from local creators. UnFair art includes but is not limited to drawings, paintings, printmaking, photography, sculpture, pottery, textiles, and more. We encourage free expression and our artists are keen to push limits, so prepare to be shocked, awestruck, disturbed, fascinated and intrigued.
You’ll find something you like and buying it for yourself, or someone you care about, will make you feel good.
When I buy something at UnFair, where does the money go?
Great question! Our artists keep 100% of the money you spend with them. UnFair never takes a cut out of our artists profits. Our goal is to provide a high-traffic venue that allows local artists to showcase their talent and sell their artwork at little, to no cost.
To reach that goal, we sell UnFair merchandise and accept donations from the public. All profit generated from your donations and our merchandise sales is used to pursue our charitable mission to fuel and ignite local creativity while supporting local artists, right here in Louisville.
How to I sign up to participate in UnFair?
We are STOKED you want to be part of the cult show! Unfortunately, right now, we don’t have any open spots for new artists, but you should go ahead and put your name on our waitlist, located HERE.
UnFair is tough. Bones (and hearts!) have been broken at UnFair. If you are selected as an artist, be ready to put in work.
Is UnFair part of the Saint James Court Art Show?
